About Erika

Meet Erika Manning

LMT • CYT • CPT

Bodyworker, Yoga Therapist, Artist, Educator

For more than 25 years, Erika Manning has been helping people in Midcoast Maine reconnect with their bodies, calm their nervous systems, and come home to themselves. Her work is known for its gentleness, depth, and the way it supports healing on every level—physical, emotional, and energetic.

Erika believes that true wellness begins when you feel safe, supported, and seen in your own body. Her sessions create the space for exactly that.

A Practitioner Rooted in Both Science + Spirit

Erika’s approach blends the structure of clinical bodywork with the intuition of energetic therapies. She has spent decades studying the body, the nervous system, and the subtle ways tension and stress live within us.

Her training includes:

• Yoga Therapy

• Zero Balancing

• Lymphatic Massage

• Polarity Therapy

• Reiki

• Myofascial & Neurovascular Work

• Deep Massage

• Polyvagal Theory

This integrative foundation allows her to meet each client exactly where they are—whether they’re managing chronic pain, recovering from long-term illness, or simply craving a more peaceful relationship with their body.

A Teacher at Heart

Erika taught for many years in the Namaste Institute’s Massage Therapy and Yoga Teacher Training programs in Portland, ME. Her years of teaching not only at Namaste, but during many years of weekly yoga classes to specialized populations honed her ability to communicate clearly, listen deeply, and guide clients through life changing experiences at a pace that feels safe and sustainable.

A Life Devoted to the Healing Arts

Erika has “been there” as her personal healing story involves debilitating back pain after being involved in a bicycle accident in her late 20’s, as well as living with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (AKA Chronic Fatigue Immune Deficiency Syndrome) for 30 years, and most recently long term Lyme and long Covid symptoms.  It was her quest to heal her back pain and combat the symptoms of ME that led her to therapeutic Yoga, and to many years of studies that started out as a way to help herself, but quickly became a quest to help others who experienced similar symptoms.

For many years, Erika owned and operated Blue Crow Studio in Appleton, ME, where she offered yoga therapy, therapeutic massage, and other healing arts services. She also spent years as part of the highly regarded team at Synergy Massage and Bodywork in Rockland.

Throughout her career, her focus has always been the same:

Help people reconnect with their bodies, regulate their nervous systems, and find their way back to balance.

Healing Through Creativity

Outside of her wellness practice, Erika is also a working artist and arts educator with gallery representation. Her creativity deeply influences her therapeutic work, bringing a sense of curiosity, presence, and artistry to every session.

Erika’s Guiding Philosophy

Healing doesn’t happen through force. It happens through gentleness, awareness, and the steady support of someone who truly understands the body’s language. Erika’s clients often describe her presence as grounding, intuitive, and reassuring—someone who helps them feel both deeply relaxed and more fully themselves.

“It’s good to have an end to journey towards; but it is the journey that matters in the end.”

~ Ursula K. Le Guin
